Special ITC program for talented children at St Joseph, Kiskunhalas, Hungary

In September -October 15 children can participate in an interesting ITC programme. Ten children of them participate in Hidden Talents project, too.
The project covers the areas of Maths, ITC, Technology, Art, Craft Science and Biology. First, children learn about how insects drive themselves, solar energy, solar collectors, eco-friendly ways of heating, environmental protection. They design houses, a small town and lamp posts. They try electric circuits and they learn Arduino programme. Check their blog. The products are: a house - heated by solar energy, streets with solar lamp and a bug that can be programmed where and how to move. Posted: Julia

Hungary - prezi (age 13)

Comenius Alley/country/school/

As I understand, we agreed that Prezi will be about the tree which is the part of the Comenius Alley. It would be useful to have a common title. My proposal is to title each Prezi Tree with the beginning:

Comenius Alley/pl/ zs11 ,
Comenius Alley/hu/......
etc

In this way when somebody is surfing the Net, they will come across a set of similar titles.

A draft of ICT Comenius Contest
Julia told me that you had a lecture on Prezi in Halas. My proposal is as follows: In each school a teacher becomes familiar with Prezi. The idea is to create a tree. It is up to you, Comenius Board decision if each school should create one tree only or in each school each age group students create their tree.
On the one hand, each tree can represent your country. On the other hand, all trees should form together an alley. Our previous Comenius project was highly evaluated. I think the Comenius Alley was the deciding factor because it is long-lasting product. The virtual Comenius Eden can be the continuation of a real alley.
However, it is only my proposal and I am open to all your suggestions.

The Virtual Comenius Alley

Students use Prezi as a presentation tool and create a tree.
http://prezi.com/ ,http://prezi.com/learn/

Each aged group creates a suitable part of their country tree. All trees form the virtual Comenius Alley.

  • The youngest students (6-9) make inhabitants of the tree. They may draw the pictures of real birds and other animals or they can make up their own imaginary creatures and use icons of typical films/ books characters. (A Magic Tree)

  • The older students (10-13) can add environment –friendly attitude comments. They may present the oldest / the most famous tree in their country. Or a poem/ description , excerpt from literature concerning a tree. Or it may be a puzzle. (A Precious Tree)

  • The oldest students (above 13) make a short film about trees. .(…? ) Croatia: to present our land in different parts of the tree. We could start with Croatia for example, and say something about it, with pictures, and then continue with school, activities in the school, classes, project.

To organise the ICT competition for European students we need some information about thier abilities, interests etc. Can you answer our questions? Could you think about other which better describe your students? Feel free to add your questions. drf
